In a recent incident a couple was arrested in May for stealing $1.2 million worth of goods from the well known online shopping portal Amazon!

The U.S. attorney said, “Finans purchased hundreds of electronics items from Amazon under hundreds of false online identities.”

Some of the expensive items they reported were GoPro digital cameras, Microsoft Xboxes and Samsung smartwatches. They reported that they weren’t working or were damaged! They even requested to replace them and zero cost!

The charges against the Muncie couple
After an investigation was filed against them, they were charged by the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Indiana State Police.
The terms of the plea agreement were violated.
After their arrest the couple found guilt under the terms of a plea agreement, the couple will be ordered to pay Amazon $1,218,504 in restitution.
