Cohen Naulty, nicknamed as Quarter Boy. Well, he’s proud of the name, Internet honored him with. So, how did he got named as a Quarter guy? Well, the 17 years old will tell himself.
So, it started with a meal.
Cohen and his friends went to a pub to have lunch and after getting done with it, they paid the bill with a.considerable tip. However, they got shamed on the Internet for paying in pennies. The pub named it as a disgusting thing. Later, the restaurant deleted the photo as they faced criticism from many people.
The guy took the criticism in a positive way.
He didn’t go on social media and resented the actions of the pub but came with the campaign. A campaign where people can donate money so he and his friends can treat strangers with a meal. “I decided that I would find restaurants out there that didn’t mind being paid in quarters and treat a patron at least once a week, just to see what this simple act of kindness could do for them!,” he wrote on Facebook.
His campaign was appreciated by thousands of people
After his story got covered by local media, his campaign was well known to the city. He found that local cafeterias and food chains such as Dominos accept the money in quarters. In a short time, he received more than $5000. And he kept his promise of treating a patron every week.
The Restaurant apologized!
The Virginia based restaurant said that the whole thing was a joke and wasn’t meant to humiliate someone. In response to receiving threats, the restaurant owner Yao Liu officially apologized for what happened. Cohen was kind enough that he didn’t tarnish the reputation of the pub.
