Not long ago Jorge was arrested for smuggling drugs!
Another fan-favorite couple from the show Jorge and Anfisa faced a major tragedy in their relationship when Jorge was arrested for smuggling Marijuana. After being arrested he was given a date for his hearing on September 7, wife Anfisa immediately asked for support for her husband!
Anfisa asked all her fans for their support and prayers!
She posted a picture on Instagram and captioned it, “This Friday is going to be a very important day in our lives… Jorge has his sentence hearing. He’s going to need all of your support. #FreeJorge #PrisonBae #HotFelon.”
The results after his court hearing!
Jorge explains, “When I first started with the charges against me, I was looking at like 24 years or something like that, some ridiculous number. But luckily my lawyer was able to work out a plea agreement,” Jorge says. “I ended up pleading to a Class 4 felony in Arizona.”
The plea deal is better than what he imagined!
He is sentenced to two and a half years behind bars, it’s better than what he imagined but still, that’s a long time. Jorge revealed, “I feel like it’s really harsh of a penalty for the crime, just because it’s marijuana-related. Right now it’s going legal in a lot of states.”
Jorge is still feeling bad for going to jail for something that’s legal!
Even after being arrested Jorge says, “It’s actually medically legal in Arizona. I just feel like going to prison over the same stuff that’s legal is kind of crazy to me.” He started feeling even worse when he realized he could have avoided prison time…
Jorge could have easily avoided prison time!
He could have easily avoided jail time if he did not have prior charges on him, he said, “[My lawyer] told me if I didn’t have any priors, I would have probably got probation. I would have been a first-time offender in Arizona,” he shares. “But, I had two previous convictions for the cultivation of marijuana. Just to set that straight; that’s my criminal record, I’ve never done anything else. I’ve never even had a DUI.”
Anfisa posted a video about Jorge’s legal battle.
After uploading the video Anfisa said, “Hi guys… I was finishing editing this video after I found the actual outcome,” Anfisa reveals. “And I’m shocked by what Jorge got. PS, I actually made a mistake in the end. He got 2.5 years.”
