A nations divorce rates are calculated by taking the average divorce rates of all it’s states. Everyday many couples get divorced in the nation and the numbers don’t seem to slow down. A recent study was conducted where the states with the maximum divorces were calculated, here we have some states where couples are most likely to get divorced!

1. Washington


The state of Washington’s divorce rate (per 1,000 people) is around 3.4 in the year 2015. The rate has decreased by 0.1 since it’s previous year, the highest ever divorce rate of Washington was in 1990 at 5.9 per 1,000 people.

2. Utah


As of 2015 the state of Utah has had the divorce rate of (per 1,000 people): 3.6, but you will be shocked to know Utah’s highest ever divorce rate recorded was in 1990 at 5.1 per 1,000 people. The rules to file for divorce in Utah was that you or your partner must be  a resident for a minimum of three months and divorcing couples with minor children are required to take a parenting course on how to meet their children’s needs throughout the divorce process.

3. Tennessee


The state of Tennessee has a recorded divorce rate of (per 1,000 people) 3.7 in the year 2015, but the highest ever recorded divorce rate in the state was a shocking 6.5 per 1,000 people in 1990. Tennessee is regarded as one of the most dangerous states, also according to a study conducted in 2015 the rate of happiness is also very low!

4. Florida


You must think Florida is probably one of the happiest places in the nation, but the statistics say the rate of divorce in the state in 2015 is (per 1,000 people): 4. the highest ever recorded divorce rate in the state back in the days was 6.3 per 1,000 people in 1990! The divorce rate in the state of Alaska recorded in 2015 is (per 1,000 people): 4.1, but the highest ever recorded divorce rate in the state in the year 1990 was 5.5 per 1,000 people. 6. Oklahoma

The state of Nevada has a  divorce rate of (per 1,000 people): 4.6 in 2015, but the state is also know for having the highest ever recorded divorce rate. 8. Arkansas
