A woman has claimed that she was fired from her job as a waitress because she didn’t wear a bra. Is this right reason to fire someone from her job?
The 22-year-old, Kate Hannah claims that her boss’s brother made an inappropriate sexual comment to her.
Kate alleges that her manager dealt with the comment.
The manager demanded saying that she must always wear a bra to work.
She took to Facebook to express her disgust at her dismissal.
“So I’ve just got home after being sacked from my job, for refusing to wear a bra. Yesterday an inappropriate sexual remark was made to me, by my managers brother, and in the presence of her. I felt uncomfortable, objectified and shocked that this had happened.”
Unfortunately she saw fit to deal with the situation.
She then wrote saying, “This was said to me in front of three other staff members and customers. Leaving me feeling body shamed and completely shocked that the blame was being put onto me that I had been sexually harassed at work. She called me stupid, silly and over the top when I told her I was upset.
I am absolutely disgusted.
Kate Hannah says, “I am absolutely disgusted, with the unprofessional-ism, and blatant lack of respect for my right as a woman to wear whatever makes me personally comfortable. Nobody should EVER feel the need to hide themselves in order to stay away from unwanted sexual comments/behaviour.”
Feel so Sad.

Hannah wrote on Facebook, “As many of you know, it is NINETY degrees outside today in West Michigan – aka, really hot. So, of course, I decided to dress for the weather: shorts and a tank top. But apparently, how I was dressed was too slutty for the public, as I was kicked out of the Woodland Mall today. “Yup. Apparently some anonymous person reported me to MALL SECURITY for inappropriate dress and I was kicked out.”
Apparently some anonymous person reported me to MALL SECURITY for inappropriate dress.
“Never mind that within a one foot radius there were plenty of girls dressed just like me, since it’s NINETY degrees outside. I am so angry right now I’m shaking. I felt so embarrassed I almost cried. All because a stranger didn’t like how I dressed. I complied. I’m not a confrontational person. Even though I didn’t feel it was right, I didn’t want to get in their faces and be like, ‘No I’m not leaving’, and start a big scene. But after I left, I was like, ‘I don’t feel like I should have been treated like that’.” The mall posted a statement on Facebook saying, “We have apologized to Hannah and we apologize to our community.
