A German Woman That Hears Mysterious Noises Since Her Birth Becomes Speechless After Learning About The Cause!
It's terrifying to hear noises that are disturbing and the things become worse when you don't know the origin of the mysterious noise. However, years after she realises the origin of the sound and she become speechless. Let's look over her journey and find out how did she learn about the origin of the noise.
Let’s meet the German girl.
The 32 years old woman named Gemma Cairns was cursed with the whooshing noise that she heard after every conversation she had with the people. Since childhood, the noise accompanied her everywhere and made her feel easy every time.
Even after slumping her head below the pillows, the noise didn’t leave her alone.
In our childhood, we had the luxury to escape the noises by using earbuds or slumping our heads below the pillows. However, the noises didn’t leave her alone. “There are always noises going on,” Gemma said. “I’ve never heard complete silence.” It’s so difficult to practice meditation, right?
What kind of noises did she hear?
At the age of 14, she finally decided to confront her problems with the family and doctor. However, she didn’t know how to explain the inundating noise, Gemma said that “I’ve always heard my eyes moving and my heartbeat in my head.” The doctor was shocked by such kind of noise and finally prescribed medication for “nasal blocks” and “ear blocks”.
But it didn’t help!
Gemma thought that she is blessed with powers of hearing Supersonic sounds. “I still go to work…but it affects things like playing with my son…if there are more than a couple of noises going on at once it can overstimulate me,” Gemma described. Later, she couldn’t take the noise!
Enough is enough!
People ask me what it sounds like…[I] just can’t tell you a sound that sounds even remotely similar to it,” Gemma said. But after examining her, the specialist finally told the truth behind the weird noises.
The doctor unveiled a rare diagnosis
Bilateral Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence is the name of the diagnosis. With this condition, Gemma was able to hear her own blood flowing through veins because she was missing part of the temporal bone in both ear canals.
What’s the solution?
The specialist gave her hope of curing the diagnosis. For that, she had to go under surgery which came with certain complications! But it’s easy to go under pain than hearing the noise for the whole life! What were the complications?
Going through pain twice
For one, the surgery could only be done in one ear at a time, meaning Gemma would be bedridden with excruciating dizziness and tinnitus during the recovery period. With only one ear corrected, it would mean going through the painful surgery process twice. She was expected to achieve silence from mysterious sounds in Oct. 2019. I hope she’s doing well now.
