Mexico is an incredibly popular tourist destination but there are some parts in Mexico which are hotbeds for drug related crime. An often quite brutal and terrifying crime. There are many cases which were captured on a body cam of police officers which had encounters with the drug cartels.

1. Mexican Police Ambushed

Mexican police were ambushed by the drug cartel belonging to La Linea wing of the Juarez cartel. This ruthless gang also performs gang’s execution.

The officer fired 17 rounds who took the video using his body cam and the took cover behind reinforced police cars.

3. The Juarez Cartel

It was founded in 1970 by Amado Carrillo Fuentes, the Juarez Cartel is one of Mexico’s most notorious and violent criminal gangs, and is responsible for smuggling a massive number of drugs, such as heroin and cocaine.

Fuentes who was known as the ‘Lord of the Skies’ – died in 1997 during a plastic surgery operation, and the cartel was taken over by his brother, Vicente. He was arrested in 2014. Although he is still behind bars, he remains in charge.

Juan Pablo Ledezma is the current leader of the Mexican gang called La Línea, which is the armed wing of the drug trafficking organization known as the Juárez Cartel and is said to be the current leader of the organization.

More than 38 journalists have been killed in Mexico since 1992 as a result of their work reporting on the country’s drug cartels.

7. Miroslava Breach Journalist Murder

Mexican journalist Miroslava Breach who was murdered in March this year by La Linea after she got to know about the relationship between the cartel and Mexican politicians and then exposed them.

8. Brutally Murdered By The Cartel

She was shot 8 times outside her house in Chihuahua. The Gunmen left a note on her car saying ” For Being A Loudmouth”. She was the third journalist who got killed in that month.
