The Pinta Island tortoise is a species found in Pinta Island in Ecuador. Pinta Island tortoise is considered extinct when the last known species named Lonesome George passed on June 24th, 2012. For the first time, we can say the humans are not the cause of extinction, it was actually goat immigration to the island that destroyed tortoise’s food and natural habitat.
